This conference is organized by the Department of Pathology, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Targu Mureș is association with Histopat-Invest laboratory Targu Mureș. The objective is to provide a comprehensive review of problematic areas in breast pathology. The conference combines classroom lectures with high quality microscopic screen projection and discussion of challenging cases.
Topics include: misdiagnosed entities and strategies to recognize their diagnostic features, breast carcinoma heterogeneity, breast carcinoma in males, precursor neoplastic breast lesions, different subtypes of invasive breast carcinoma, sentinel lymph node technique and evaluation, breast core needle biopsy, resection margins in breast carcinoma management, basics in molecular pathology of the breast, breast conservative and oncoplastic surgery, surgery of the axilla.
Also, topics related to the multidisciplinary team role in breast pathology, role of breast cancer patients association and psychological support for patients with breast cancer and the role of a national screening program in diagnosis of breast cancer will be covered.
This conference is relevant to any pathologist or clinician interested in breast pathology as well as general practitioners: pathologists, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, and students.
